Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of the inquiries we get most often about the rooms for rent on the South Shore and related questions. If you have a question about something not covered here then please contact us any time, thanks for your interest!

01

Why are you renting rooms?

Like most people struggling these days, it is an economic decision. As a senior, my income is limited and it is just me and my dog living here and we have the space, so we use it to generate income that goes directly into our home improvements and related bills.

02

What is included in the rent?

Everything! ALL utilities (heat, power, water, internet, laundry), as well as a furnished room and use of all appliances, dishes, pots, etc. All you need to bring are your clothes and personal belongings!

03

Is there public transportation from your location?

No. There is in the towns of Bridgewater and Liverpool, but out in the rural area where we are there is none, so you will need your own vehicle. There is parking available here.

04

Is your dog friendly?

YES!! He is a medium sized Goldendoodle and hypoallergenic, so no shedding! He loves to make friends with everyone who stays here and often lays at the feet of visitors to show he's no threat.

05

How does the lease work?

It is monthly, so you are not locked into anything fixed term and only need to give 30 days notice when leaving. Upon moving in you will be signing a roommate agreement, legally binding in Nova Scotia, that covers the basic terms. We are legally "roommates" sharing a house, NOT 'Landlord/Tenant' for rental purposes.

06

What is the rental process?

I like to keep things simple. Just send me a message about what room you are interest in and your expected move in date and we'll arrange a time for a viewing and interview. Full first month rent and damage deposit is due on move in, or just $100 upfront, if you want a room held for up to 30 days.

Still have unanswered questions?

No problem! Just send a message and we will get back to you within a few hours. Have a great day!
